Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) is a highly contagious disease which affects susceptible cloven-hoofed animals such as swine, cattle, small ruminants, and buffaloes. It causes great economic loss in livestock production affecting the livelihood of farmers and trade of an infected nation.
